Sweet Tooth Fairy Contest Winner!

And the winner, after much toil and sweat, is……

Russ! Comment Number #46.

Russ embodied the essence of my plight for truth and justice in food. His “Sweet Tooth Fairy” phrase was perfect.

“High Fructose Corn Syrup of Ipecac”

If you didn’t know, I think that HFCS is poison. Syrup of Ipecac is a serum that induces vomiting in case of ingestion of poison.

Brilliant, Russ, I’ll be in touch very soon. Thanks so much to you and everybody who entered the contest.

Please keep reading. Let me know of any food related subject you would like to see examined here on FOOD VIGILANTE!

  1. Hah! Just found this site and am blown away with the contest here. There are some very entertaining ‘Sweet Tooth Fairies’ in the submissions.
When I defined the ‘Sweet Tooth Fairy’ I was adamant that examples should follow the rules – three words where the first and second form a known expression and the second and third form a known expression and all three together make a credible expression.
Very quickly I discovered that people didn’t always stick to these rules, and I tried to police it. However lots of really good wordplay would have been lost so I created a home for all those that couldn’t quite keep to the rules. Your winner is one such, but it’s makes an excellent ‘False Teeth Fairy’ form of ‘STF’.
Since then there have been subdivisions of ‘STF’ and other ‘STF’ concepts developed.
So, why let rules get in the way of great fun playing with words?
    Be Great.
